How to Use Both Handcrafted Soap & Body Butter

I’ve discussed the features and benefits of my Soaps & Body Butters and not talked about how best to use them.

Each product is handcrafted with care, making every one unique. Handcrafting takes time, love, and attention. Below, I share my crafting process and tips on how to get the best results for your skin.

Soaps made from the Saponification Process.

I create soaps using the saponification process, where oils and butters are transformed into soap and glycerin using sodium hydroxide. Carefully, I blend the lye solution with my custom oil and butter formulations, pour the mixture into moulds, and leaving them to set for at least 48 hours. The soaps then undergo a curing process, hardening and drying for 4-12 weeks. It might sound straightforward, but perfecting my recipes took time and my initial batches were a total disaster! Through trial and error, I've refined my formulas to create nourishing, high-quality soaps.

Pouring the prepared Soap into Moulds and leaving to set for 48 hours.

This soap is a wonderful cleaner for the skin, and the cleansing and moisturising properties leaves your skin squeaky-clean and hydrated without drying.

I recommend popping your bar of soap into a soap-bag, which can help to increase the lather, whilst also exfoliating the skin during the washing process. Gently massage the lather onto your skin and thereafter rinse with water.

A rich and creamy soap, that leaves your skin squeaky clean and hydrated.

Your bathwater will be creamy white and sorry to say, there will be a scum-ring around your bath… that’s dirt and skin flakes that you have removed whilst cleansing. Hang your soap to dry and please treat your soap in the same way as your toothbrush by not sharing with others.

This is a perfect skin preparation for your body, that is now ready to be soothed, moisturised and hydrated with my Body Butters.

Using a ‘Soap Bag’ will create a rich lather, whilst gently exfoliating the skin.

Simply & Natural Soaps.

They contain no chemicals, are natural  and are suitable for vegans.  I don’t add petals, colouring or exfoliating preparations.  Only natural oils and butters, including Olive oil, Coconut oil, Shea or Mango Butter and the specified essential oil.  That’s it!

Artisan Body Butters.

Otherwise known as my little babies.  The key ingredient in my Body Butters is Refined Shea Butter, chosen for it’s rich properties, without the earthy scent of Raw Shea Butter, allowing all the other fragrances to shine through. Also Virgin Olive Oil, known for its ability to richly moisturise and hydrate the skin.

All ingredients are meticulously measured, using jewellery scaled for total precision and to ensure each batch is created to be the same as the last.  I always review my ingredient and method document for accuracy, as it is important for me not make any silly mistakes, because no one is perfect!

Once combined,  Body Butters are pipped into each little jar  and once again, for accuracy and precision, I use my set of jewellery scales and weigh each pot separately, with the ‘TARE’ function.

Batched-Coded, Sealed & Labeled, my Body Butters are ready for us.

Caution

My Body Butters are made from a formulation specifically designed for your Body.  That means, from the neck down to your toes.  Due to the inclusion of essential oil, these Body Butter are not suitable for the more delicate skin on your face.  Also My Body Butters are for those aged 3 and over and not for pregnant ladies.

I pipe all Body Butters individually by hand into ‘Amber Glass Jars’ using the most accurate Jewellery scales.

How to use

Apply a small pea size amount at a time, to gently and deeply massage into your skin.  The added Arrowroot minimises the greasiness and within a very short period of time, your skin will have absorbed the butter, leaving it glowing, soft, moisturised and hydrated for the day.

Remember that a little goes a very long way and not to waste your Body Butter by applying it too thick.
